This passed friday 5/5/2012. Adam Yauch, better known by many as the rapper MCA of the beastie boys, passed away at age 47 from Salivary Cancer.
For those who aren’t familiar with the beastie boys, what Run DMC did for hip hop bridging it to rock, The beastie boys did with rock to hip hop. This hit close with me cause although Pac and Big are super icons I wasn’t a functioning artist who studied music when they passed away or really appreciative of Hip Hop at the time.
